Subproject T3: Model-based cycle-oriented decision making support in early phases of PSS innovation processes under specific consideration of the technical disciplines

The aim of transfer project T3 is a decision making support in early phases of the PSS innovation process in industrial product and manufacturing automation. The impact of decisions, which are taken at early stages in the innovation process, can in most cases only be estimated much later and, thus, may lead to potentially costly changes. Therefore, in this transfer project the achieved results of subproject A6 regarding model-based development of mechatronic systems are integrated together with the research partner Software Factory GmbH into an industrial toolchain, in order to improve interdisciplinary decision making in early phases of the development process.

Motivation

  • Integration of the disciplines involved in the innovation process
    • Varying cycle times for mechanics, electronics and software
    • T (Mechanics)  >  T (Electronics)  >  T (Software)
    • Necessity of synchronisation at points of interaction
  • Transfer of the results for model-based development to companies in the domain of production automation
  • Integration into an industrial toolchain for an early analysis of impacts of decision making in the cyclic innovation process

Prospective results of funding period 3

  • Field-Tested approach of modelling as a basis for designing of PSS in production automation
  • Concept for an analysis of impacts of the preliminary to the detailed design
  • Support method/Toolchain for structuring and supporting interdisciplinary teams
