The innovation process

The object of research for SFB 768 is cycle management for innovation processes. For the purposes at hand, an innovation process consists of seven phases, ranging from identifying demand to using the product-service system. SFB 768 encompasses an expanded usage phase which takes in upgrading and disposal.

As the term is employed in SFB 768, the innovation process should not be understood as a linear process; it includes cycles in the sense of process iterations and coordination activities between the individual phases.
