MuniCat provides interesting industrial internships in the field of catalysis research and development at Clariant. Due to the limited amount of internships, a complete application has to be submitted at an early stage to richard.fischer@tum.de or munich-catalysis@tum.de.

MuniCat projects can be studied within interesting and challenging research interships, Bachelor- or Master's theses, as well as PhD and postdoctoral positions. Please contact richard.fischer@tum.de oder munich-catalysis@tum.de.

Open Positions:

  • Master's Thesis (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering) „Applied Industrial Catalytic Processes: Weakness Analysis and proposals on process Optimization“

  • Commissioning of a parallel test unit for the hydrogenation of CO2-pure or rich synthesis gas

  • PhD thesis for modeling and simulation of porosity, fluid dynamic properties and the effect of heat transfer in shaped catalyst fillings (different, process-optimized geometry) in the project cluster 3DKAT, founded by the Bayrische Forschungsstiftung (BFS).

Summer Term: Time/Place

Lecture Industrial relevant Aktivation of Small Molecules for advanced students: Current trends in hetero- and homogeneous catalysis regarding activation of smaller molecules, such as simple alkanes and alkenes or sulfur dioxide or nitrogen are presented in detail. Due to current situation remotely only via Zoom etc.

 Mondays, 11:15 am - 1 pm; via Zoom
Lecture 310 K (...Special Subjects: Career in Industry, Work-Life-Balance, Time- and Self-Management, Project-Management, Leadership Skills, etc.). Tuesdays, 3.15 pm - 5 pm; via Zoom
Winter Term:  

New lecture Catalysis in Industrial Praxis for Master students given in English. The lecture will introduce to general aspects of industrial catalysis and discuss selected and relevant issues of applied industrial catalysis in detail.

Excursions:

  

MuniCat provides interesting trips for students to the production and R&D Departments of Clariant site in Heufeld (limited number of participants). Will be announced.
