Since 2008, Prof. Dr. Andreas Trumpp is head of the Department of Stem Cells and Cancer at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Further he is the director of the "Heidelberg Institute for Stem Cell Technology and Experimental Medicine" (HI-STEM) [more...].

PD Dr. Daniel Nowak holds a professorship of the José Carreras Endowed Professorship for Leukemia Research in 2017 and works as a senior physician. Since 2017 he has also been a specialist in internal medicine, hematology and oncology at the Medical Faculty Mannheim. Since 2016, he also works as a scientific group leader.

Nanni Schmitt. Nanni Schmitt studied biology at the Technical University of Darmstadt and has been a doctoral candidate in the working group of Daniel Nowak since 2017. In her doctoral project, she uses a murine MDS xenograft model as a preclinical platform for drug testing. She graduated with summa cum laude with her doctoral degree.
