2nd Retreat and Workshop of the Research Unit FOR2033/2 in Freiburg
The second Retreat of the Research Unit FOR 2033/2 is schedulded for May 3rd at the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg.
In addition, a workshop will be held on May 4th for PhD students and postdocs:
In this workshop for PhD students and postdocs, EMBO Press editors work with participants on the principles and practicalities of scientific publication. Participants will gain a theoretical understanding of the structure and content of a manuscript, including the planning and assembly of figures and the writing of effective titles and abstracts. Participants will learn to navigate the editorial process at journals and will understand how papers are editorially assessed and reviewed, as well as how to respond to reviewer comments on their papers. Publishing-related challenges – including conflicts of interest, authorship issues and data deposition – as well as strategies for disseminating published work – including social media and press releases – are also addressed from the perspective of research journals.

Conflict management and team building Workshop
Silke Humez, a mediator and diploma teacher, will hold a workshop at the Klinikum rechts der Isar on february 14th and 15th, 2017.
The experienced adult pedagogy trains together with PhD students and postdocs from the NicHem 2033 Research Unit open communication between employees and supervisors; Conflict management at the workplace; As well as team development.
"What is to be done so that my employees "burn" but not "burn out"?", asks Silke Humez and deals with this question together with employees of the Research Unit.

CRISPR Cas9 Workshop der Forschergruppe FOR2033 NicHem

Workshop: November, 16th and 17th, 2015 for Postdocs and PhD students.
Dr. Tim Ammon from the Klinikum rechts der Isar is introducing together with Sebastian Bultmann from the Martinsried Biozentrum the new technology CRISPR Cas9. In addition, Dr. Cornelius Miething from the University Hospital Freiburg and Dr. Oskar Ortiz from the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich present how and particularly how successfully this technology has already been applied in their laboratory. On the second day the theoretically acquired skills are applied in the laboratory.
