* Radio based determination of position, time and velocity * Satellite constellations and orbits * Signals (modulation and coding) and navigation services (GPS and Galileo) * Acquisition and tracking * Discriminators for delay, frequency and phase and associated loops * Multipath, ionospheric and tropospheric propagation and their mitigation * Accuracy of position and time * Reference systems for position and time * Relativistic corrections

Studien-, Prüfungsleistung

Final exam as well as an optional midterm exam before Christmas The midterm exam counts as 25% of the final result, if the midterm grade is better than the final one. The use of the following material is permitted: 8 handwritten DIN A4 pages (each side of a sheet of paper counts for one page), a formulary (e.g. Bronstein or Springer's Mathematische Formeln), and a non-programmable pocket calculator. All other items, including in particular books, cell phones, etc... are prohibited.
