Anmerkung: All the students on the waiting list are required to attend the kick-off meeting. The final enrollment list will be determined after the kick-off meeting since the list might be changed after the introduction at the meeting.


By programming the key components of a satellite navigation receiver, the students will be able to understand the processing steps that are needed between the reception of the satellite signals and the positioning. The programming in MATLAB allows the student to work with real and simulated data to gain practical experiences in satellite navigation. The students develop an understanding of the difficulties that a satellite navigation receiver is faced with (this includes description of orbits, convergence of positioning algorithms, acquisition and tracking of signals, atmospheric delays) and the solution it applies.


The students will implement the basic steps of a single frequency satellite navigation receiver with MATLAB. The course covers the following six topics: - Receiver Positioning - Satellite Position - Pseudorange Corrections - Differential Positioning - Acquisition - Tracking

Inhaltliche Voraussetzungen

The students must have passed the lecture "Satellite Navigation" offered by our chair as essential prerequisite. Basic MATLAB programming skill is required as well.
