Objectives

The lecture provides algorithms and methods for achieving a precise absolute position with GPS and Galileo.

* Introduction to Precise Point Positioning * Traditional Precise Point Positioning with Melbourne-Wübbena and Ionosphere-Free Linear Combinations * Estimation of Satellite Position, Clock and Bias Corrections with Geodetic Networks * Cascaded Kalman Filtering * Reliable Carrier Phase Integer Ambiguity Resolution * Joint subset determination and integer least-squares estimation * Best Integer Equivariant Estimation * Precise Point Positioning with low-cost single frequency GNSS receivers * Orbital corrections * Multi-Sensor Fusion for joint PPP and Attitude determination

Prerequisites

Fundamentals of satellite navigation are helpful but not mandatory.

Teaching and learning methods

Learning methods: The exercises in the tutorials repeat the lecture's subject and, thereby, deepen the understanding. Self-study of the lecture notes and powerpoint slides is also expected. Teaching methods: The lectures include derivations at the blackboard, summaries on powerpoint slides, and short presentations in Matlab. The students are encouraged to actively participate in the lecture and tutorials by the lecturer.
