Robotics Research at TUM
The development of robots that are able to sense the environment, reason about it, and take action to perform tasks in cooperation with humans requires a new quality of integrative collaboration of best in-class experts embracing top-level engineering and natural science disciplines.
Munich, considered as one of the seven top locations in the world for robotics, comprises top players highly recognized in the field like the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) and the Technical University of Munich, in particular, with its departments of electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering and informatics.
The Technical University of Munich has internationally recognized professors and senior researchers with substantial activities in robotics, well reflected in their research profiles and education programs. In addition, there are strong research groups that deliver new methodical foundations and use robotics as one major application field for their research. The core robotic research at the university comprises the following areas: healthcare robotics, advanced manufacturing production and intelligent and autonomous systems.
