Experimental Structures - Gridshells

Gridshells are curved surface structures which are constructed by a network of linear elements. The continuous curvature allows for an efficient load-bearing behavior making it possible to create lightweight structures with high stiffness. During this Master programme course in the summer semester 2016 the students were asked to design a temporary gridshell for the Structural Membranes Conference which will be held at the Technische Universität München from 9th – 11th of October, 2017.
