The idea of shared resources in micro communities allows high flexibility as well as individual privacy for a generation known as ‘Digital Nomads’ who enjoy remote work, access to shared amenities and high mobility. This generation asks for new living concepts blurring the boundaries between private life and work.
The studio investigates in innovative spatial alternatives to current living situations focusing on the fundamental topics of modern urban living. Well-designed spaces with structural integrity, sustainable design and smart technology leave a lasting impression and light environmental footprint. The project aims to create public spaces and places to connect dwellers to the city. Interweaving design strategies to connect people into the urban fabric are a key aspect of this studio.
phase A. analysis.
Showing the relationship between social frameworks in the history of dwelling in regards to family and community. The task of unit 1 is to understand and illustrate the relationships between society and urban dwelling in an historical background.
phase B. design studio
based on the phase A, well-designed spaces with structural integrity, sustainable design and smart technology were worked out. Diverse projects including aspects of shared living are proposed showing different strategies of collaborative living concepts.
