Symposium ‚3D-Printed Architecture‘ 06.03.2018


The Associate Professorship of Architectural Design and Building Envelope invites the professional audience and interested parties to get acquainted with the latest developments in the research and application of '3D-printed projects in architecture'. The question of the meaningfulness of the use of additively manufactured components or entire buildings and their potentials, now and in the future, are explained by examples and different positions of the speakers.

The speakers include the researchers Benjamin Dillenburger Project: Digital grotesque (ETH Zurich) and Norman Hack Project: Mesh Mold (ETH Zurich / TU Braunschweig), Chis Borg-Costanzi Project: AM Blog: AM4AE (TU Darmstadt), Klaudius Henke Project Lightweight concrete (TU Munich) and Moritz Mungenast Project: 3D-printed facades (TU Munich) and the industry Tobias King (voxeljet), Bruno Knychalla (FIT) and Gijs van der Velden of the company MX3D, which is currently a stainless steel bridge over a Gracht in Amsterdam prints MX3D Bridge update.

The internationally renowned architect Stefan Behnisch will shed light on the potential for use in architects' everyday life and for new construction tasks.

The symposium will take place on March 6, 2018 from 2 to 7 pm at the TU München in the Vorhoelzer Forum.
