Production Engineering
No car can be manufactored economically without consideration of the production processes. This is valid for all production steps, from the level of individual components until the complete vehicle assembly. New production technologies are necessary especially for the new main components as motors and batteries to allow a cost-efficient and fast mass production.
Another challenge within the frame of production engineering are innovative materials and their processing. This arises particularly for the special materials of motors and batteries. The increased use of lightweight materials as aluminium or carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) must be considered in order to create a viable electric vehicle.
