The colloquium took place parallel to the 14th IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE). The event counted over 30 participants, including from the SFB 768 and international high-ranking scientists and industry representatives, including Prof. Alexander Fay (Helmut Schmidt University, Germany), Prof. Cesare Fantuzzi (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy), Prof. Chun-Hung Chen (George Mason University, USA), Prof. Manuel Wimmer (Vienna University of Technology, Austria) and Prof. Jerker Delsing (Luleå University of Technology, Sweden). From the industry we were pleased to welcome Dr. Markus Reifferscheid (Head of Central Development, SMS Group GmbH). The aim of the colloquium was to bring scientists and industry representatives together and to facilitate the joint exchange of experience on topics such as the interdisciplinary design of innovations and model coupling.
The event consisted of different sequences. In the first part of the event an interactive poster session was offered in which the use case groups of the SFB "Cross-disciplinary Engineering", "Inconsistency Management", and "Knowledge Management" presented their results. The second part covered the topic "Model-based System Development, Verification and Optimization", which was carried out in the form of a "World Café". The exciting discussions reflected the impressions of the guests so that valuable feedback could be obtained for the SFB. This feedback will now be implemented in further research of the SFB members.
