In diesem Semester werden zwei Projektthemen angeboten:
1. DESIGN IN CRISIS - betreut von Prof. Farías und Dr. Sanchez Criado
In this project, students will experimentally engage with and reflect upon the critical conditions imposed on design by different forms of crises, searching to unfold, discuss and debate how these situations also put many of the tools, strategies, aims and goals of design in crisis. Using a case-scenario approach students will have to prototype a quick solution for a crisis early on in the course. The three scenarios involved recent urban crisis: the earthquake in Amatrice, Italy, the flooding of the Simbach in Bavaria and the housing of refugees in Munich. Based on their first prototypes, students will rework their design proposals via research with affected and concerned individuals, readings and class discussions.
2. OPEN SOURCE SMART CITY - betreut von Prof. Farías und Frau Mendes
Im Projekt beschäftigen sich Studierende mit der ‚Smart City’ als technologiezentriertes Modell nachhaltiger Stadtplanung. Ziel ist es, der oft vernachlässigten Rolle von Bürger*innen und Betroffenen durch Prozesse kollaborativer Technik- und Infrastrukturgestaltung entgegenzuwirken. Studierende werden sich mit von der Stadt geplanten und laufenden ‚smarten‘ Interventionen in Neuaubing-Westkreuz auseinandersetzen, vor allem im Bereich smarte Mobilität und Sensoren-Infrastrukturen. Im Projekt sollen Studierende einen Ko-Gestaltungsprozess mit zivilgesellschaftlichen Akteuren konzipieren und durchführen und die Ergebnisse in einem Prototypen festhalten. Für jede Gruppe stehen bis zu 500 Euro für die Realisierung eines Prototypen zur Verfügung.
1+2: A CO-LABORATORY FOR DESIGN EXPERIMENTS
Beide Gruppen werden in einem gemeinsamen Rahmen arbeiten, so dass ein Lernen voneinander möglich ist. Fast wöchentlich finden Aktivitäten für Studierende beider Gruppen statt:
