Salina Neubert wins Dr. Gertrude Kromholz award

Salina Neubert, graduate from the Bachelor in Health Sciences, investigated the possible effects of an effort reduced and concentration based meditation on tinnitus symptoms in her bachelor thesis at the Chair of Sport Psychology.

The intervention was implemented in cooperation with the trained meditation coach Alice Heyland. In her thesis “effects of a four week meditation intervention on patients with chronic subjective tinnitus strain”, Salina describes quantitative and qualitative changes of the tinnitus strain, subjective severity level of the tinnitus and quality of live. All three aspects showed improvements. The subjective severity level of the tinnitus was reduced the most. Furthermore, the qualitative data showed improvements in individual areas of life.
