Researchers from the Institute for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Systems attend an OPAL-RT training

Two researchers from the Institute for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Systems attended from January 20 to 22 an on-site training from OPAL-RT, in order to be able to use the real-time digital simulator.
The training covered the following topics:
- Introduction to OPAL-RT, RT-LAB and simulation systems
- Getting started with RT-LAB
- From Simulink to real-time simulation (model edition, compilation, execution)
- Advanced features : monitoring, parameters, data logging
- Hardware and I/Os
- RT-Events, RTeDrive and ARTEMIS for electrical systems simulation
- Website resources and access to technical support.
Both trainees were satisfied with the quality and content of the training. Some work needs to be done in the following weeks in order to adapt the training material to the needs of our project.
We will make sure that the students working on the real-time simulator get a similar training at the beginning of the project main phase, so that they can work efficiently and safely !
