The HCS group has been selected by Intel® to participate in the Intel Hardware Accelerator Research Program! Automated synthesis of controllers to the next level!
The program is spurring research in programming tools, operating systems, and innovative applications for accelerator-based computing systems.
This reconfigurable hardware consists of Intel’s Xeon® processor with its Arria 10 FPGA. This server cluster connects Intel® Xeon® processor with an in-package field-programmable gate array (FPGA) via the platform’s high-speed QuickPath interconnect improving system bandwidth.
The Intel® FPGA can be programmed to serve as a workload-optimized accelerator offering substantial performance, agility, and energy-efficiency advantages. This solution is suitable for a number of application domains, such as machine learning, data encryption, compression, image processing and video-stream processing. We plan to use this platform to compute automatically embedded control software for large-scale systems very efficiently.
