Research Opportunities Week

Once a year the TU Munich selects 50 young scientists from all over the world and invites them to the Research Opportunities Week (ROW) in Munich. During this week, the participants have the opportunity to visit different research facilities, to meet Professors of their disciplines, to inform themselves about possible postdoc funding opportunities in Germany and to create a scientific network. The Department of Architecture encourages young researchers and Postdocs in the field of Architecture to apply for the event.

TUM invites 50 highly talented early career researchers for a one-week visit, fully funded by the TUM Postdoc Mobility Travel Grant. During the ROW, young researchers have the opportunity to get to know TUM from the inside, engage in inspiring discussions with our researchers and participate in workshops covering topics from TUM’s research and infrastructure to the German postdoctoral funding landscape.
All ROW participants are eligible to apply for a one-year TUM University Foundation Fellowship (TUFF) and will receive expert advice to apply for external funding for a prolonged postdoctoral stay at TUM. The week is an excellent opportunity for young researchers to boost their scientific career and to extend their scientific network in Germany.

The upcoming call for the ninth Research Opportunities Week at TUM will open in September 2017. The application deadline is October 31, 2017.
The next Research Opportunities Week will take place from April 16 – 20, 2018.

Application criteria:

  • PhD students in their final year or
  • Postdocs who have obtained their PhD no longer than 3 years ago
  • Application from a foreign university (Germans who are based abroad and did not obtain their PhD at TUM are also eligible)
