Huber's thesis focuses on two major issues current and future cities are facing: Urban density and climate change. The design portrays a densification in the form of residential towers and uses natural physical processes with the aim of generating wind, cooling the city and ventilating the building. It implements the alpine pumping, a characteristic phenomenon in Munich, the chimney effect and evaporative cooling. In addiction, wind turbines are used to produce renewable energy and a new type of façade textile is used to clean the city air.

We congratulate Alexandra Huber on her outstanding thesis, that was supervised by Prof. Kéré at the Chair of Architectural Design and Participation.
