Designing a pavilion for the Structural Membranes 2017 Conference

This project is utilizing the theory of curvature lines on freeform surfaces, to find intelligent methods for the construction of gridshells. Each student analyses an existing gridshell project and subsequently designs a unique sculptural pavilion of approx. 100 m². The most convincing design will be realized as the pavilion for the TUM Structural Membranes 2017 Conference. The students may only use 2D fabrication techniques to build a 1:5 model of approx. 2 x 2 m span.
