Call for Applications EXTENDED: "The House for Health Promotion"

The BauHow5 alliance (www.bauhow5.eu) is organizing the Design Dialogue "The House of Health Promotion - Rethinking the Entrance of Hospitals" at TUM on September 25, 2019. Master students of architecture, industrial design and medicine with practical experience in hospitals are invited to participate in the one-day workshop, to develop a future concept for the entrance area of hospitals.

In the interdisciplinary design workshop, international researchers and practitioners will rethink with students the entrance areas of hospitals, from a psychological, social, medical and spatial perspective. In this one-day design dialogue – a participatory creative format from Sweden. The one-day workshop is free of obligation. Architectural, medical and industrial design students will develop the concepts further and submit a short design proposal 6 weeks after the workshop mentored by Marie Strid from Chalmers University of Technology, visiting professor Dr. Tanja Vollmer and Gemma Koppen from TUM Department of Architecture.

We are looking for applications from Master’s degree students in architecture, industrial design and medicine, interested in contributing design ideas for future hospitals. The successful participation on the workshop day and report with short design proposal, which shall be handed in 6 weeks after the dialogue, will be granted with 3 ECTS (Modul AR30382 Strukturierte Planungs- und Kreativitätsmethoden).

Co-operating partners will be medical professionals, representatives from the municipality of Munich and researchers from UCL, TU Delft and ETH.

The workshop is part of the 3-year Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership “Strengthening Architecture and the Built Environment Research” (SABRE), conducted by five leading European universities in architecture and the built environment (BauHow5) and co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
