2nd Prize within 10th Conference of the International Masonry Society

Dr. Roberta Fonti and Jonas Schikore from the Chair of Conservation-Restoration, Art Technology and Conservation Science were awarded 2nd Prize within the context of the 10th Conference of the International Masonry Society (10th IMC).

TUM members Dr. Roberta Fonti as Group Leader and Jonas Schikore as Group Member were placed second after the team of University of Lyon (France). In total, eight teams were qualified for the competition.

The prize was awarded within the context of the 10th Conference of the International Masonry Society (10th IMC) as student competition. The conference was co-organized by the Politecnico di Milano (Technical University of Milan), Italy, where the event took place from 9 to 11 July 2018. The conference provides an opportunity to exchange information on the advancement of new research in the field of masonry structures, and is addressed to researchers and professionals dealing mainly with the design of new masonry structures, assessment of historical buildings, retrofitting and rehabilitation techniques.

The International Masonry Society, based in UK, is one of the most important worldwide organizations with a focus on studies and researches on brick and stone works.
